The Cyclops Watch by Mr Jones Watches
Cyclops can be read with a relaxed kind of accuracy that offers a counterpoint to our hectic modern lives.
Average Rating:
Cyclops is a colourful timepiece by London designer Crispin Jones. It dispenses with a conventional arrangement of hour, minute and second hands; instead a single hour marker passes around the coloured dial. Each hour is represented by a different coloured circle, the black hoop gradually passes over each circle to indicate the time. Cyclops can be read with a relaxed kind of accuracy that offers a counterpoint to our hectic modern lives.
Mr Jones believes the watch to be a curious object, its functional aspect largely redundant due to the abundance of mobile phones and computers which both keep impeccable time. This redundancy liberates the watch allowing it to become more playful and carry some alternative functionality. We delight in the way this watch ignores convention and are glad to offer a brilliant design piece that does not require a mortgage. We also love the fact that Mr Jones watches are made by a small design firm, this is not a mass produced product.
Each watch comes in a MJW presentation box with a specially commissioned artwork by Debbie Smyth. Inside the box you find the guarantee card - every watch is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of purchase against any original manufacturing defect. Cyclops was orginally released in a limited edition form as part of MJW's third series.
